Old Time Shepherds - Puppy Policy
What we do:
We raise pups with love, care and daily individual attention. They are exposed to humans from birth and as they grow they are shown different situations.
Our past litters have experienced free-range and in-coup chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, peacock, calves, cows, horses/ponies and occasionally pigs. Our pups will have a lot of interaction with children, adults and will be taught basic commands.
The puppies will receive their first Vet examination, shots & worming before they “go home”.
We do our best to prepare our puppies for adaptation to all situations that they may be exposed to in their lives. We teach our puppies from early on that we are the “people” and they are the “dogs”.
Placement:
We will take the time and effort to evaluate their ability, structure, and temperament, we will be picking your pup based on the information you give us. We’ll be asking for assistance in evaluation from Breeders with more experience that we have. We'll use the Volhard Puppy Testing as well.
It is very important that you are as thorough as possible in telling us exactly want you want/don’t want so that we can make the best decision. We may give you a choice if we find that more than one pup might suit your needs.
Deposit:
We will ask for a deposit of $100. as a sign of good faith on your part.
If we are not be able to provide you with a pup, the deposit will be returned in full.
If you change your mind, the deposit is ours to keep.
Pups will not leave their littermates until they are at least 6 weeks-old. (more often 8 weeks). Your payment for the pup is to reimburse us for the time, effort, and expense we have contributed in the planning, placement and rearing to weaning of your pup.
Transportation:
We are willing to transport pups by whatever means necessary to get them into the right homes. Transportation may be stressful to the dog; however, a short period of stress is definitely worth a lifetime of happiness in the right home. We recommend a "Courier" air service ratherthan "Cargo" whenever possible.
All costs associated with transportation are the buyer’s responsibility and must be received before the pup leaves us. These costs are in addition to the price of the pup and include, but are not limited to, health certificate, crate, actual fee for transport, and cost of travel to and from the drop off point (i.e: The airport.)
Service After the
I’d like to receive an update on the dogs from time to time throughout their lives. I’m readily available for questions about behavior or health concerns. It’s nice to keep track of the pups and follow their accomplishments. I’m very willing to assist in any way possible for your dogs success.
We make every effort to insure the health and welfare of our pups. We will get the initial Vet’s Puppy exam, however we cannot be responsible for undiagnosed, unpredictable situations. Any & all findings known to us and the Vet will be open information and will be shared with you.
